Musician Spotlight: Victor Tsai
Please welcome Victor Tsai, our one-year interim co-concertmaster and member of the Cascade Quartet! Victor joins us for the season while Megan Karls is on a one-year leave of absence.
Victor grew up in Taiwan and earned his Bachelor in Music degree from National Taiwan Normal University and furthered his education at the Indiana University Jacob’s School of Music. He earned his Performer Diploma in 2023 and a Master of Music in 2024 on a full-ride scholarship.
Outside of his passion for the violin, Victor enjoys traveling, playing any kind of sport, and test driving muscle cars. Besides classical music, he enjoys pop and jazz, specifically Bruno Mars, Joe Hisashi, and some K-Pop! He says he loves to test drive any car he can get his hands on, from compacts to muscle cars. He just loves the sound of the engine!
His favorite food is Japanese ramen which he came to enjoy while traveling in Japan. On his travels, Victor likes to collect condiments from every country he visits! He doesn’t have pets, but says bunnies are his favorite animal because of how cute they are!
Please enjoy this picture of Victor drawing crowds of students yesterday at the Symphony’s booth at the World of Work Expo!
