Orchestra Positions & Audition Process

We are always happy to hear string players who are interested in joining the Great Falls Symphony Orchestra, as well as players in other sections who would like to be considered for regular or substitute positions in the orchestra, even if there are no current openings. (If there are current openings for non-string positions, those will be listed here, with specific requirements.)

The general audition requirements (for all instruments) are:

  1. 2-5 minutes of a solo of the applicant’s choice, preferably from the standard repertoire

  2. 2-3 excerpts chosen by the Music Director

  3. Sight-reading

Interested applicants can ask questions or request an audition appointment by sending an email (with an attached resume of musical experience) here. Applicants may also call the Symphony Office at 406-453-4102 for more information.

Symphonic Choir Positions & Audition Process

The Great Falls Symphony Association would like to announce auditions for membership in the Great Falls Symphony Association's Symphonic Choir. The 100-voice choir performs a wide spectrum of choral repertoire, ranging from major works performed with the Great Falls Symphony Orchestra, to challenging a capella literature. Membership in the choir comes from the broad Great Falls area and reflects the diversity and talents of our community community and the region.  All singers are welcome to audition in a very welcoming setting. Join one of the premiere choral organizations in the greater Great Falls area!

Audition Requirements: Sing "Happy Birthday" in a selected key and sight-sing a simple melody.

NEW MEMBERS contact the Great Falls Symphony at 406-453-4102 or by email to schedule an audition time.
