Welcome to our new Sinfonia Conductor!

The Great Falls Symphony Association is pleased to welcome Sarah Schaeffer as the new conductor of our Youth Orchestra Program's Sinfonia ensemble. Originally from Centennial, Colorado, Sarah Schaeffer graduated from Bethany College in 2013 with her Bachelor of Music Education degree. While at Bethany, she studied the viola with Ann Samuelson, Joey Menninga and Rachel Stultz and conducting with Dr. Richard Koshgarian. After teaching in Colorado for three years, she moved to Great Falls to teach with the Great Falls Public Schools. She performs with the Great Falls Symphony and teaches privately. New Chinook Winds and Cascade Quartet members join the Great Falls Symphony for the 2019-2020 season

The Great Falls Symphony Association is pleased to welcome oboist Dr. Paul Chinen and violinist Luis Angel Salazar to the organization for the 2019-2020 season. Auditions were held at the end of May this past spring. Highly qualified candidates from throughout the country travelled to Great Falls to perform for an audition committee consisting of members of the Chinook Winds, the Cascade Quartet, and the Great Falls Symphony Music Director, Grant Harville. Paul will be the new principal oboist in the Symphony and the newest addition to the Chinook Winds, the Symphony’s resident wind quintet. 2019-2020 Chamber Music Series with the Cascade Quartet and Chinook Winds

The Great Falls Symphony presents the 2019-2020 Chamber Music Series featuring its Core Ensembles, the Chinook Winds and the Cascade Quartet. The ensembles will present seven new and unique concerts through the season, culminating with a special chamber orchestra program in May. The Chinook Winds will kick off the 19-20 season with a spicy season opener, featuring guest guitarist Sungmin Shin. ¡Ole! Works for Winds & Guitar concerts will be on Friday, September 27 (7PM), and Sunday, September 29 (2PM).
