Musician Spotlight: Mark Juras

Mark is the tenor section leader in the Symphonic Choir and the choir representative on the Board of Directors!

Mark grew up in Great Falls after his family moved to be close to Malmstrom. He has been singing since 7th grade, and sang in both the Chanteur and Russell-Ayres choir at CMR! He says choir was a stabilizing force in high school that helped him stay focused and achieve. After graduation, he attended MSU for Civil Engineering and continued singing in the MSU Chorale all four years of college!

After college Mark started singing with the Symphonic choir and has been a member since 2011! He has also sung in several church choirs over the years. Including the church where he met his wife, Lex. They met at a mutual church friend's birthday party on the spikeball court. Mark says it was life at first spike. They have been married for two years!

He says he is a typical Montana man when it comes to his hobbies, and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, reading (especially Harry Potter), and video games. Mark and Lex have a rescue dog named Greta. They just adopted her in May and went hiking 24 miles in the Beartooths this summer!

Mark serves the people of Great Falls in the public works engineering department and feels privileged to use his engineering career to serve the people of his hometown. He is grateful for the community of Great Falls and how many people volunteer and care about their community. He says there is no place he would rather live.
