ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

If you're passionate about music, especially choir, this is your chance to turn that passion into your future. Each year, the Great Falls Symphony awards the Mary E. Moore Music Education Scholarship to one outstanding high school senior planning to study choral music in university. The scholarship awards $1,000 and is applied to the second semester of freshman year. It is presented at the final Great Falls Symphony concert featuring the Symphonic Choir of the season. 

WHO CAN APPLY

To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:

  • Be a high school senior

  • Be actively involved in their school music program

  • Attend an accredited high school in MHSA Districts 6-8

  • Must plan to major in Music Education at university

  • Participate in university choir

Winner selected: April 15th
Winner announced: April 18th

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for the scholarship, email a submission packet to gfsadmin@gfsymphony.org that includes the following documents:

Including the following:

Performance Video

Upload a performance video to YouTube and include the URL on your email submission. The video must:

  • Student Resume​

  • High School Transcript

  • Student Letter

    • Explain why you feel you are the most qualified to receive this award.​

  • Parent or Guardian Letter

    • Describe the student's musical dedication and passion.

  • Music Educator Letter​​

    • Highlight the student's leadership and commitment to choral music.​

  • Not exceed eight minutes

  • Include two contrasting vocal pieces that show your range, skill, and musical expression

  • Be labeled with your name and the titles of each piece performed
