HOST A MUSICIAN
The Great Falls Symphony relies on generous patrons to open their homes to host a musician the week of a concert in addition to the incredible support from our hotel partners. Our Homestay Program is a wonderful way to connect with the symphony and support our musicians directly.
What's Involved?
A Place to Sleep
Our musicians do not need much! A private place to sleep like a spare bedroom is perfect. A pull out couch in a living room might not be quite what we're looking for.
Homestays are common in the symphony world and they are used to the system! You are not required to entertain or share food- though if you would like to you are welcome.
Privacy to Practice
Our musicians need a place to stay for the whole week to attend rehearsals. They will need to practice their music between rehearsals somewhere private and quiet.

The sounds of violins, French horns, or flutes drifting through your home never gets old!

Homestays are simple to put together—musicians just need a bed and some privacy and simple food options. It is a great way to give back to the Symphony as a form of donation that goes directly to supporting our Musicians in the orchestra, and it also helps make connections for them to the community of Great Falls.
In addition to knowing that you are helping the Symphony’s mission out in a BIG way, we have had some incredible conversations with musicians we have housed in the past, and have gotten to hear some incredible music being practiced and honed in their downtime. It is always fun to learn about what is going on in the Arts world outside of Great Falls and add that to our cultural viewpoint!

We have been frequent hosts to guest musicians. The experience of having a guest musician in our home allows us to share the welcoming atmosphere that Great Falls offers. The role of a host family is simple: all that is needed is a place to sleep. One can invite them for joined meals, but there is no obligation to entertain guests. They have their own transportation and most of their free time is spent practicing. We have had the pleasure of meeting some very pleasant and interesting people through this opportunity. It is a simple way to support the Symphony and make new friends in the process.
We highly recommend it!
