The Great Falls Symphony Presents Legends

The Great Falls Symphony kicks off its 61st season on Saturday, October 5 at 7:30pm, with Legends, a program filled with epic tales of myth and magic. We will visit the ancient world for Respighi's Pines of Rome, while also traveling to fictional lands for the film scores of How to Train Your Dragon and The Lord of the Rings. For tickets, contact the Mansfield box office at 406-455-8514, or visit gfsymphony.org/legends.

Benjamin Hodson, 14 years old, is from Great Falls, Montana. He competed in the Montana Association of Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artists Competition in January of this year and won first place in the Junior Division on piano.

When Benjamin was 5 years old, he begged his mom to begin teaching him piano. By the age of 7, he played the organ for his church’s worship services. At age 12, he began studying piano with Dr. Stephen Allen, former head of BYU-Idaho’s piano department.

In seventh grade, he was invited to solo with the North Middle School Orchestra. While Benjamin loves playing the piano, organ, and percussion, he also enjoys public speaking, cross country, and making new friends.

Benjamin will perform the first movement of Dmitri Kabalevsky’s Piano Concert No. 3.

Single admission tickets for Saturday’s concert are available at the Civic Center Mansfield Box Office at 2 Park Drive South, Great Falls, by phone at 406.455.8514 (open Monday-Friday 11:00 am to 4:30 pm), or online 24-hours at www.gfsymphony.org/legends. On the day of the concert, the box office in the theater lobby will open at 6:00 pm for ticket sales.
