The Great Falls Symphony's Sound Foundations Project

Program Information for students and Parents

Who is it for?

The program is for students who demonstrate a commitment to music study but may not have access to private music instruction opportunities. We welcome all beginner students or those who are switching to a new instrument! No prior study in school or with a private teacher is required. Priority consideration will be given to students who have not had the opportunity for private music instruction.

Beginner Group Classes

Students have the opportunity to have their first music lesson experience with a teaching artist who specializes in their instrument. This program will be offered for instrument that may not typically be available to beginner students (e.g. bassoon, oboe, french horn). The Beginner Group Classes will culminate with a student recital for family, friends, teachers, and peers.

What will the program be like?

The Sound Foundations program will be an exceptional learning opportunity!

Each class is instrument specific and is taught by one of the principal players of the Great Falls Symphony. Class size is limited to 4-7 students so teachers will have the opportunity to address the strengths and needs of each individual student throughout the course of the program.
