The Great Falls Symphony's Chamber Music Series presents seven concerts each season, featuring performances by the Chinook WindsCascade Quartet, and collaborative guest artists from a variety of artistic disciplines—Phil Aaberg (piano), Mark Elliot Bergman (bass), Sarah Dassinger (dancer), Dakotah Watson (digital artist), Heather Barnes (soprano), and Johan Eriksson (saxophone) to name just a few.

These performances are intimate and exciting; with smaller venues and small ensembles, audience members have the chance to experience great performances in an up-close and personal setting. Programs are innovative, community-focused, and often collaborative across artistic disciplines. You never know when the next concert will feature special screenings of short films with live music, visual artwork by local students, dramatic literary readings, or a choreographed dance in performed by one of Great Falls' own local performing artists. Join us for the next concert and see what we're up to next!

This concert series is unique. Nowhere else in Montana can you regularly see musicians of this caliber performing such innovative and exciting programs.

All concerts are free for the 2020-21 season! In addition to the live performances, concerts are recorded and broadcast later via multiple platforms.

The Chinook Winds and the Cascade Quartet are featured on every Chamber Music Series performance.

These two chamber ensembles form the core of the Symphony’s orchestra as section leaders and serve as the Symphony’s ambassadors, reaching out to diverse populations and far-flung places throughout the region with their touring and outreach. All members of the quartet and quintet come from different parts of the country, each with advanced degrees from renown conservatories and impressive musical backgrounds. But each person has taken their passion for music and followed it here: to play music under Montana’s Big Sky.

The artists develop each program for the Chamber Music Series—choosing diverse repertoire and exciting guest artists to bring Great Falls audiences a unique and intimate musical experience.

The Chamber Music Series is one of the Great Falls Symphony Association's many programs.

The Great Falls Symphony presents the Chamber Music Series as part of its mission to infuse cultural vibrancy into the Great Falls community through transformative music events and education programs.

The Symphony established the Cascade Quartet in 1978 and the Chinook Winds in 1992 in an effort to bring high quality leadership to the the orchestra, chamber music performances to the city of Great Falls, and further enrich the cultural experience of its residents. The ensembles are featured in every Chamber Music Series concert throughout the season and enable the Symphony to expand its impact through many outreach and educational programs in the local schools as well as the Great Falls Youth Orchestra.
