One-on-one help, group lessons, and discussions on instrumental technique are just a few examples of this exciting program.

They perform 2 concerts every year at the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts in the Great Falls Civic Center. Your attendance to their concerts help support the program. Artist-in-Residence
Every other year, the Great Falls Youth Orchestra invites a composer to be the Artist-in-Residence for the entire season. During the residency, the Youth Orchestra premieres new music written by the artist, receives coachings, and becomes acquainted with the compositional process. Since most of the orchestra's repertoire is written by composers from the past, it is important that music students have an artistic connection with composers of today.

The 8th Grade Side-by-Side
8th Grade orchestra students from North and East Middle Schools combine to rehearse and participate in a concert with the Great Falls Youth Orchestra. This side-by-side performance provide 8th grade students the opportunity to perform with the best high school musicians in north central Montana and to perform on the Mansfield Theater stage.

Open Rehearsals
Open Rehearsals are offered during our World Artist Series to high school and collegiate students. Previous artists include Yo Yo Ma, Midori, Sir James Galway, Itzhak Pearlman, and Joshua Bell. Reservations are required.
